About the Author

Jeremy Griffith was born in Albury, NSW, Australia in 1945 and raised on a sheep station in central west NSW. He was educated at Tudor House School in NSW and Geelong Grammar School in Victoria before attending the University of New England, where he played representative rugby, making the trials for the national team, the Wallabies, in 1966. Jeremy deferred his studies in 1967 to attempt to save the Thylacine or Tasmanian Tiger from extinction. Attracting international scientific and popular media coverage, the six-year search, the most thorough yet carried out, concluded the Thylacine was extinct. After completing a science degree, majoring in biology, at Sydney University in 1971, Jeremy began manufacturing furniture to his own simple and natural designs. The business employed some 45 people when Jeremy sold his half share in 1991.

Jeremy began actively writing about the human condition in 1975, established the World Transformation Movement in 1983, published his first book, Free: The End Of The Human Condition, in 1988, and his second book, Beyond The Human Condition, in 1991. While (in 2003) he is a WTM director Jeremy’s main role is developing understanding of the human condition. With his partner of 23 years, Annie Williams, Jeremy spends most of his time writing at his brother Simon’s property in central west NSW.
